There's a song by OK GO called Get Over It, that I have listened to ever since I was 17 any time I needed to get pumped up. Whenever I'm running and my iphone throws it into the mix, it is "accidentally" replayed, several times. The reason being that one of the lines, in describing a girl, is that she has a "body like a battle axe". Hearing that while in the midst of sweating and pounding out my anxieties makes me only push myself harder and think, "oh hellllll yes". So this weekend when I joined a few GFSC members in a private session at Crossfit Beyond, in Albany, I was stoked. One step closer to that battle-axe bod! Our WOD -circuit- consisted of sprinting 100 meters, 5 bar presses and 10 sumo-kettlebell squats, repeated as many times as possible for 3 minutes, 1 minute break and repeated 2 more times. For a total of 9 super intense and kick-ass minutes.
