FIT to be OUT

Yesterday I assisted A. Flora in playing hooky from work.  It was a royal success. Our day's adventures started with a visit to a thrift store I have heard great things about but hadn't found the time to go yet- well, her hour drive and need for retail therapy put it at the top of our "to-do list".  It was amazing!  The shop was abuzz with women, all offering us suggestions and insider secrets- it was as if we walked into a secret society, with a group of women who only spoke kind and helpful words (why can't life be more like that??).  Today's original outfit was entirely made up of items I bought yesterday- but sadly, the temperature dropped quickly and drastically this afternoon so it was replaced with this getup.  Still mostly thrifted...and warm!

Dress- thrifted
Leggings- American Apparel via Some Girls Boutique
Necklace- H&M
Shoes- thrifted

This deep purple velour dress started at a frumpy-knee length- although it was rather unstylish as I found it, I knew my magic-worker of a friend Kasey could help me out.  She chopped off several inches(at my request) and hemmed it for me in a matter of minutes last night- now I LOVE it!

Today I spent hours on the couch knitting- I will be selling my art work and knitted goods at the Tight Knit Craft Market, in two short weeks.  This change of weather- the official presence of Fall- always finds me knitting while listening to my Nat King Cole Pandora station.   I anticipate this emphasis on creative living all summer long.  Does anyone else have season-changing favorite activities?  How do you celebrate the cooler temps and shorter hours of light?   Paris Je T'aime, one of my absolute favorite films tends to find itself on repeat while I bake desserts and soups galore- I love feeling nestled in my home.  This year I want to do a cookie swap!  I've never done one before- can't wait!
