Welcome to My Workspace

A few days ago E and I went fabric shopping and while out I purchased a new book, Sewing Basics by Sandra Bardwell.  Today I took a quick snack break from my machine and read the first chapter- Getting Organized.  It was all about your workspace, being organized, but not uptight and having FUN.  She is such a funny and relatable writer. I actually giggled while reading a book about sewing... she had some great insight about organization and working... she said "Cleanliness might bring you closer to the gods, but if there is no trace whatsoever of activity (mess); then it's hardly going to be the biggest adventure of your life".  So true right!?!  Well after reading the first chapter I decided to share a few photos from my workspace lately.

The change in weather is so inspiring and motivating to me!  The last three days I have made by far, my greatest work to date.  I knew I would gradually get better, but all of a sudden two nights ago I figured a few things out that have been so hard for me up until this point.  I am so very excited and proud of what I made!  I can't wait to share it all!  Oh, also, I made a fan page for "du ciel designs" on facebook, ordered my business cards, am talking to a website designer, and am meeting with a photographer this week!  Look at me checking things off my list!

Enjoy your week!

  1. Congrats! My workspace is a DISASTER. I think there's a good balance between workable mess and all out fabric explosion (like my room currently). Can't wait to see your stuff! Miss you! --Laura
